Problems with functioning in sexual relationships can be treated in psychosexual therapy (sex therapy). I use an integrated framework in dealing with sexual problems, and take into account biological, social, religious belief and cultural factors as well as psychological ones. Often sexual problems can be particularly difficult to talk about and psychosexual therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space in which to do so. Treatment can often include behavioural exercises to be carried out at home.
Problems that people bring include:
- Lack/loss of interest in sex
- Erectile dysfunction
- Painful sex
- Loss of erection
